Do I need a WTA roof rack installed first, or can the poles mount directly to factory rails?
No roof rack required — the surf and SUP poles mount directly to factory roof rails. You need the factory low-profile C-channel rails (the groove running on both sides of the van roof). Standard Sprinter factory rails work perfectly. You can add the WTA roof rack later and the poles will coexist with it.
Will two SUP boards or surfboards fit in one set of hooks?
Yes — we have installed two boards as shown in the product photos. Measure the combined thickness of your boards and compare to the hook opening on the product page. Confirmed customer example: an 11'8" x 33" x 5" SUP and a 10' SUP fit together in one set of hooks. Email us at info@whitetopadventures.com with your board dimensions if you're unsure before ordering.
How do I secure the boards during transport and prevent theft?
Use tie-down straps across the boards for transport security. For anti-theft, threading a cable lock through the hooks and boards is the most common customer solution. Check the product page for our current recommended strap options.
Can I add more hooks later after the poles are already installed?
Yes — additional hook sets can be added at any time after the poles and ladder are installed. Hooks are sold separately.
How much distance should I leave between the ladder and the surf pole?
Spacing is fully adjustable along the factory roof rail. Contact us at info@whitetopadventures.com with your board length and we'll give you the exact recommended spacing for your setup before you install.
Can I pick up locally? How long does shipping take?
Yes — local pickup at 14831 Franklin Ave, Tustin, CA 92780. Mon–Thu 9AM–4PM, Fri 9AM–3PM. Order online first and note 'will call.' In-stock orders also ship same day or next business day via UPS/FedEx and arrive in 3–7 business days.
