Designed for convenience and space savings, this dual-purpose upgrade lets you store your spare tire on the rear door while giving you easy access to your roof. That means more room underneath your van for essentials like water or auxiliary fuel tanks—without sacrificing functionality.

The integrated ladder makes roof access simple—perfect for loading gear, cleaning solar panels, or grabbing bulky items. It also doubles as a reliable secondary ladder when you need extra reach.

Built to last, the carrier is constructed from a strong 2" aluminum tube frame and comes equipped with a stainless steel wheel mount. Machined aluminum foot pegs and dimpled rungs provide solid grip while climbing, and our shock proof silicone dampener at the third mounting point helps protect your van’s body from wear.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the 180-degree hinges? Do I already have them? Do I need to buy them?

The tire carrier requires your rear doors to open fully (180 degrees) so the tire clears the van body. Most 2019+ Sprinters come with 180-degree hinges from the factory — check if your rear doors swing fully open to lie flat against the van. If your doors stop at ~90 degrees, you need the 180-degree hinge upgrade. We sell the OEM-style Sprinter 180° hinges separately on our site. For 4x4 models and Winnebago Revel builds, confirm your hinge type before ordering.

Does the ladder actually extend all the way to the top of a high roof Sprinter?

Yes — it is specifically designed for the high roof Sprinter and extends to the top of the van. The installation video shows it clearly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmDbNglq3dg.

If you have a standard/low roof Sprinter, this product is not compatible.

What size spare tire will fit on the carrier? Will 305s or 315s fit?

The carrier is designed for standard Sprinter spare tire sizes. Regarding large aftermarket tires: 315s have been reported to prevent the rear door from opening fully without hitting the Mercedes emblem. 305s may clear depending on the exact rim offset. If you're running non-stock tires, contact us before ordering at info@whitetopadventures.com — we can confirm clearance for your specific setup.

Will this fit my Sprinter? (2016, 2020, 2022, 2025, etc.)

The Sprinter Rear Tire Carrier Ladder is compatible with all Sprinter high roof vans from 2019 onward with standard 180-degree rear door hinges. For 2018 and earlier: the product requires 180-degree hinges — see question above on the hinge requirement.

Yes — the Transit Rear Tire Carrier Ladder is a separate product available at whitetopadventures.com/collections/transit.

Note: the Transit version's ladder does not extend quite as high as the Sprinter version due to door geometry. If it's currently out of stock, sign up for notifications on the product page by selecting "sign up for notifications".

"Absolutely love the look and fit of this rack. Not only is it sexy, it’s strong and easy to assemble and install. Use caution when tightening the hardware. If the head of the bolt spins on the powder coat, it might cause the powder coat to bubble. Easy to fix with a little black paint but don’t make my mistake. Highly recommend this tire rack for your sprinter!"
