"I am completely blown away by this box. the construction, value, and aesthetics of the product is incredible."
Do I need to assemble the box?
No — the box arrives fully assembled. All you need to do is attach it to your Atlas rear door rack.
Does the box come with a lock and keys? Some of your photos don't show one.
Yes — the Atlas storage box comes with 2 locks and 2 keys included. Earlier product photos did not clearly show the lock, causing confusion. The current version ships with the lock installed and both keys in the box.
Can the interior shelf be adjusted to different heights?
Yes — the interior shelf is adjustable to different heights. It does not require disassembly to adjust.
Will the Atlas box work on a Ford Transit or Promaster?
The box is universal and can be mounted to the vast majority of rear door panels, including third-party racks. Measure the mounting hole spacing on your existing rack and compare it to the box's back panel holes. Drilling additional holes into the back panel of the box is easy and fully supported if needed. For Ford Transit: the box is compatible — the Atlas rack itself for Transit is a separate product.
Can I install the box if I already have the rear tire carrier ladder on my van?
This is a common concern for customers who installed the tire carrier first. The box mounts to the passenger-side rear door rack, while the tire carrier ladder mounts to the driver-side door — so in most configurations they are on opposite doors and do not conflict. However, if your builder has concerns about sequencing the install, contact us at info@whitetopadventures.com before your install appointment so we can walk through the exact setup.
How much does the Atlas storage box weigh?
Our Atlas Box is heavy-duty and weights around 70 pounds.
The mounting panel looks like it covers the rear window — is that intentional?
Yes, and it's by design. The panel needs to be that height to provide enough surface area to securely support the weight of the Atlas storage box. It does cover the passenger-side rear window. We do not currently offer a shorter panel. If unobstructed rear window visibility is important to your build, factor this in before ordering.
